JMBP talent evaluator Antoine Blanding checks in with University High School guard Josh Bledsoe on his experience at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase.
JMBP: How was your experience at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase?
JOSH BLEDSOE: My experience was really good, I enjoyed the camp and the competition. I would love to do it again next year for the Sophomore showcase.
JMBP: How was the competition level?
JOSH BLEDSOE: The competition was very high level. There were a lot of great players at the showcase and it was a great experience playing people that were really skilled.
JMBP: What was the best part of the camp?
JOSH BLEDSOE: The best part of the camp for me was getting to play against great competition and showing my skills to the evaluators.
JMBP: How did you play individually?
JOSH BLEDSOE: I played well I shot a high % on the day, making 10 threes on limited attempts over 5 games. I also forced the tempo by playing full court pressure defense when my man was bringing the ball up. This caused some turnovers and got them out of sync. I made 10 threes in total over the day. I felt really good about how I shot the ball and distributed the ball.
JMBP: What are two things you learned from the camp that you will bring into the high school season?
JOSH BLEDSOE: I learned to lean on my strengths although I’m shorter than most. I’m low to the ground and quick. Staying low, putting pressure both on O and D with my speed, and constantly moving are things that’ll I’ll bring to help my HS team. I also want to bring my shooting to University.
